Breaking: Neil Patrick Harris Loves Silly Bands

My love of all things Neil Patrick Harris is shamelessly blatant to all my co-workers and friends. I cleverly figured out a way to bring the possimpible into my blog over yesterday. I'm thrilled that today I can change my Dr. Horrible calendar to August which means no more Captain Hammer and Penny, but instead a month dedicated to the good doctor. Heck, I love Dr. Horrible so much, we used to have Dr. Horrible Fridays (and Wednesdays, and Tuesdays, and occasionally Thursdays and Mondays) back in the Bungalow that I used to share with Sarah E & Carolina. Heck, we even made custom t-shirts to showcase our love for NPH on Halloween.

No one knew who we were and we just told them that with great awesomeness came great responsibility. They would learn in time. The DVD was on repeat all day in our office. There's actually a Dr. Horrible DVD under my desk and one in my car, but that's just coincidental. I somehow have run into owning like 4 copies of it, but that's okay. Better to have more NPH than less. Yes, we REALLY love NPH.

And after last night's episode of the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, we really love NPH. Why? Is it because he's expanded the cast of RENT to include the little red headed kid from Different Strokes and Scrappy Doo? Is it because he let Craig know in no uncertain terms that his home town of Albuquerque does not smell like vomit, especially not Perennials Restaurant, located at 6001 San Mateo Blvd, in Duke City New Mexico open daily from 7:00am-2:00PM. No, it's because Neil Patrick Harris...loves Silly Bands.

I'm going off the wild assumption that some of you might not know what these little shaped rubber band bracelets actually are. Well, that sentence pretty much just solved that, didn't it? Silly bands are shaped rubber band bracelets that don't really serve a purpose, unless that purpose is for every kid in the country to think they're awesome. And now, any adult who is a fan of NPH does too. They come in a variety of shapes, so you can proudly tote your love of things like pineapples, princesses, stars, and penguins. You can get these bad boys at places like 7-11, stationary stores, and gas stations. Heck, they're even so popular that right here at Motivators we've got orders pouring in for custom silly bands. True story, as Barney Stinson would say.

What impressed me the most about NPH's love of Silly Bands was the fact that he totally talked over Craig Ferguson as Craigy Ferg attempted to end their time together. "Well, we're outta time here," said Ferguson but NPH ignored him and asked, "Hey have you seen these things?" He pulled off his first band as Ferguson proclaimed excitedly that his son loved Silly Bands also. "It's like Justin Bieber in elasticated form," Ferguson cracked. NPH proudly took the time to show off each of his bands.

After his first band (a rabbit for his love of magic)...

He re-shaped the next one: a dolphin to mark his love of dolphins.

Next up, a pineapple because NPH loves pina colodas. This was probably my favorite moment because it segued into the hardest hitting question of the interview, the answer which I will share with you now: sometimes, NPH does like getting caught in the rain.

Finally, the last silly band ended the interview on a joke. "It's a rooster," NPH exclaimed. Why a rooster you ask? Watch the video below to find out. The hard hitting silly band segment starts at about 5:40.

All in all, it was most definitely a strong interview. Sure, The View had on Obama, but kudos to NPH & Craig Ferguson for keeping their eyes on the prize and discussing the important issues at hand.
