This Bus Shelter Smells Like ... Potatoes?
It's been said that scent is the strongest sense tied to memory. And for most people, the smell of a freshly baked potato stirs up nostalgic feelings for a good, home-cooked meal. So when McCain Foods, which is known for its potato products, erected this multi-sensory bus shelter, it knew exactly what it was doing.
The unprecedented advertisement features a heating component that helps commuters thaw out while waiting for the bus while simultaneously emitting the aroma of baked potatoes. The campaign was released in conjunction with the release of McCain's new custom food product -- oven-ready baked potatoes.
What do you think? Would the smell of this traditional favorite get you to purchase the potato company's new product?
